Food poverty prevention in schools event with HopeKitcken & The Real Junk Food Project at IGC (Church) 102A Watling Avenue, HA8 0LN, Burnt Oak, London (opposite the library & adjacent to the tube station) on the October 2016 from 5pm until 8.30pm.
HopeKitchen, has teamed up with multi award-winning and the first (Pay As You Feel) PAYF project ‘The Real Junk Food Project’, in organising an event in tackling the topic of food poverty within London. They are organising this free event to explain to local communities how to get involved to prevent food waste and challenge the status quo.
Adam Smith founder and co-director will be delivering a presentation on The Real Junk Food Project and all its initiatives and giving advice on the plans to launch in London.
A professional chef for over ten years, Adam has held a wealth of head chef positions, internationally. Whilst in Australia, Adam witnessed the scale of food waste, agriculturally and within the catering industry. Upon his return to the UK, together with his partner, Johanna, he was inspired to set up TRJFP.
Adam and TRJFP have received numerous plaudits and awards from organisations ranging from NESTA to The Observer. In 2014, Adam was voted one of the forty most influential men in the world by AskMen.
Adam was a featured speaker on the TEDx broadcast from Warwick University on February 28th 2015.
HopeKitchen aims for this partnership project to be the first of its kind in London and will directly have a positive impact on the most deprived London communities throughout London.
