#PodcastsSoWhite iTunes Needs To Diversify Its Charts
The ShoutOut Network is the UK’s first diverse podcast network founded in July 2015 by Efe Jerome and Imriel Morgan. The pair grew frustrated by not hearing or seeing themselves represented in UK media. They noticed that nobody was catering to their demographic. Instead, they were increasingly relying on African-American media outlets to get their stories.
Podcasts have become increasingly popular and after witnessing the success of African-American shows, they decided that they can create similar content for their communities. They believe that media representation in the UK can improve by creating podcasts hosted by people from underrepresented groups.

Melanin Millennials

The Guardian’s 50 podcasts you need to hear. Londoner’s Imrie and Satia began the Melanin Millennials podcast in December 2015. The show made it onto iTunes New and Noteworthy within two weeks of launching. The show is often compared to successful African-American podcasts ‘The Read’ and Buzzfeed’s 'Another Round’. Despite this, the show remains quintessentially Black British. The ladies fearlessly critique politicians, the beauty industry and the mainstream media.

Mostly Lit

Mostly Lit is the second show to launch on the ShoutOut Network. Starting in April 2016 hosts Alex Reads and Reckless Rai have been building a dedicated audience of book lovers. They share their unique take on the London experience while simultaneously exploring the intersection of literature and black culture.

Two Fools Talking- A weekly dose of comedy and philosophy. Asking existential questions with vulgarity and foolishness. Launching May 24th, 2016.
Unarchived- A ten episode series that will unveil the hidden history in your local area. Starting with ten sites across London, the show will launch on June 3rd, 2016.

Pre-launch Roof Party
The ShoutOut Network will be holding a pre-launch roof party on Saturday 25th, June in Elephant and Castle. It is the perfect opportunity to meet the team and the hosts of the shows. ShoutOut Network’s Official Launch Party
